Who we are

The group behind this initiative includes people from various backgrounds. What they all have in common is to have lived and worked in Syria and to have become attached to this country and this people.

Moved by the courage displayed by the Syrians and the sacrifices they made for their freedom, we have all tried, in different ways, to help them in their peaceful struggle.

Dismayed by the international community’s powerlessness, we have decided to call on global civil society to show its support for these people who have been martyred by their own leaders for the past 18 months.

Without the active engagement of those whose names are listed below, Give the Nobel peace prize to the Syrian people could not have given international civil society the opportunity to speak out for the recognition of the Syrian people’s exemplary action in upholding their fundamental rights
